Recently, Taylor’s Music Club in collaboration with Taylor’s Duckie held “More Than Just Music” to harmonise the passion for music for a profound cause for the community.

In its efforts to support the local music and art scene, the two-day-long festival featured stages of varying sizes, showcasing pulsating rock beats and mesmerising classical and jazz melodies, and boundless of energy through exceptional performances including traditional Malaysian music, interactive activities, food and beverage booths, and pop-ups to truly immerse attendees into the festival experience.

On-site activities saw captivating performances by a lineup of talented individuals from Taylor’s Music Club and local up-and-coming musicians such as Heartstrings, a Duckie-themed ‘Hook-A-Duck’ activity to redeem exclusive duckie merchandise, unique vendors such as Mew Movement (live caricature photobooth), Flower Bars and many more

“Taylor’s Music Club was where many of us found a home for our passion for music and we believe that music has the power to inspire change and uplift communities. As it was evident that we wanted to initiate an event for a purpose greater than ourselves this year, we activated a festival that celebrated performers of diverse backgrounds and that explored fundraising avenues – an unwavering commitment to making a positive impact for the Dignity for Children Foundation, a non-governmental organisation dedicated to providing holistic care and educational opportunities for the lives of underserved children.

We are overwhelmed by the support we received from the community members, sponsors such as Nestle (Malaysia) Berhad, Big A Productions (M) Sdn Bhd, Buga Buga Burger Bar, Country Farms Organics, LANEIGE Malaysia and Quintagen and local businesses and individuals who came together to make “More Than Just Music” a resounding success,“ said Bernice Lee Tyzz Chii, President of Taylor’s Music Club 2023.

“More Than Just Music” featured Malaysian artists such as Midnight Fusic, RESORT, and JAIE on the Main Stage on Day 2 of the event at The Grand Hall, Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus

Taylor’s Music Club is one of the largest student-led organisation part of the university’s Student Development arm. The success of “More Than Just Music” serves as a reminder that when a community comes together with a shared passion for music and a commitment to a greater purpose, they can make a significant impact. This event not only celebrated the universal language of music but also showcased the incredible potential of collaboration and compassion.
