KL International Hospital And Huawei Malaysia Join Hands To Power A Smart Healthcare City

KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development of smart hospital and digital healthcare solutions, marking a significant milestone towards creating a fully integrated smart wellness ecosystem for KL Wellness City (KLWC).

The collaboration will focus on integrating advanced technologies to elevate healthcare delivery and management. This includes developing robust information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and cloud solutions to support hospital operations, applying AI-powered analytics to enhance clinical and operational efficiency, and implementing smart hospital and wellness technologies. Additionally, both organisations will work together to introduce capacity-building programmes and leadership training aimed at strengthening digital healthcare capabilities.

“This collaboration with Huawei Malaysia marks a pivotal step in realising our vision to make KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd a world-class model for smart healthcare and wellness living,” said KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd Managing Director Dato’ Dr. Colin Lee. “By integrating advanced digital technologies, we are setting new standards in patient experience, operational efficiency and data-driven care.”

Under this partnership, Huawei Malaysia will act as a technology partner, supporting the implementation of ICT infrastructure and smart solutions, including cloud computing, networking, and AI-powered healthcare applications. The collaboration also includes joint initiatives in training, knowledge sharing, and technology deployment to enhance KLWC’s Smart Hospital – KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd. Targeted to open by the second half of 2026, KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd (KLIH) is the flagship tertiary hospital within KL Wellness City, envisioned as Southeast Asia’s first fully integrated smart healthcare institution that combines advanced medical technology with personalised, holistic care.
Approved for 624 beds and scalable up to 1,000 beds, KLIH will feature 25 operating theatres, 76 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds, and 88 High Dependency Unit (HDU) beds.

Following the MoU signing, leaders from KL International Hospital and Huawei Malaysia marked the milestone with a symbolic balloon-popping ceremony, signifying the official launch of their strategic collaboration

There will also be a direct link bridge to The Nobel Healthcare Park, a premier commercial hub comprising three towers with medical suites for doctors to establish their practice, wellness suites for investors, retail suites for F&B outlets, business suites for offices and entrepreneurs, as well as MSC Cybercentric offices and supporting facilities, offering enhanced connectivity and convenience.

KLIH aims to establish a world-class hospital system that is globally competitive and complementary to Malaysia’s growing medical tourism sector. In pursuit of excellence, KLIH will continue to collaborate with renowned international partners with proven track records and global success stories, positioning both KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd and KL Wellness City as leading names in international healthcare and wellness innovation.
