It’s Ang Pow Time!

Every Chinese New Year, one of the things I look forward to is seeing the red packet designs from beauty brands, in particular Estee Lauder, Shiseido and Clinique. They are much nicer than red packets collected from financial institutions but then again, one would expect a bit more from beauty brands.

This year, I managed to collect red packets from each of the abovementioned beauty brands. If you’re a traditionalist and love red and gold only, then Estee Lauder’s is embossed with a gold flower in front, simple yet striking.

Departing from the usual and often obligatory red, Clinique has come up with orange packets with a silver dragon which looks like it is chasing after someone or something. I like this one as the orange sets it apart from the majority of red packets.

Shiseido’s designs channel the four seasons and it’s flowers on red, purple, pink and yellow backgrounds. Very pretty indeed and fantastic that one packets contains four different colours of ang pows. Variety is good!

I received a sms from Clinique to collect a special Chinese New Year gift and it’s a make-up pouch with 3 brushes in it – for face and eyes. Kudos to Clinique for always making sure their customers have a happy festive season.
