ECOHAIR ACADEMY, based in Bayan Lepas, Penang, is proud to be the first hairdressing centre and academy in Malaysia to establish an educational collaboration with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). This partnership, formed through UTAR’s Centre for Corporate and Community Development (CCCD), led to the development of the Professional Certificate in Hairdressing Full Course (PCIHFC).The course commenced in June last year at ECOHAIR ACADEMY, with a total of 10 students enrolled. All of them have completed the course and were awarded a Certificate of Completion accredited by CCCD. This interview is with 3 of the students who received the Certificate.

Ng Zi Xuan: 20 years old from Bukit Mertajam, Penang.
Carlyn Lee: 19 years old from Taiping, Perak.
Law Yong En: 19 years old from Balik Pulau, Penang.
How do you feel graduating from UTAR and receiving your professional certificate today? How does it encourage your career?
Ng Zi Xuan: I am very happy and proud that it’s a result of my hard work and I can face future challenges in my career.
Carlyn Lee: I am very happy to receive the certificate because before, I wanted to attend university, but I couldn’t do it. I can now do it by attending ECOHAIR ACADEMY. I am now more confident of my skills and have fulfilled my dream. I am already working at ECOHAIR, have a stable career and can learn more.
Law Yong En: I am very happy and hope that I will be more successful in my career and achieve more success.
What would you like to say to yourself and to your parents?
Ng Zi Xuan: That I’ve done it and to my parents, thank you for their support and I appreciate their support.
Carlyn Lee: I didn’t give up on my dream and appreciate my parents’ support.
Law Yong En: I have achieved success and am now more confident as in the past few years, I didn’t talk much to people. To my parents, thank you to them as the fees are high. I can now walk away from my previous life to a better and brighter future.
