Heritage Meets Modernity In Florsheim’s Fall Winter 2011 Collection

I didn’t know much about Florsheim other than that they were famous for their high quality men’s shoes so when I was invited to preview their Fall Winter 2011 Collection, I took it as an opportunity to enlighten myself. It’s a brand that has made shoes for ‘the man who cares’ for more than 100 years.

The new men’s and women’s collection showcases a repertoire of colours to choose from : neutral colours like beige, browns and blacks to soft colours of lavender and cantaloupe. There are also hints of burgundy and electric blue.

Present at the launch of Florsheim’s latest collection were David Venner, President of Florsheim Australia and Syed Naqiz Shahabuddin, Director of Florsheim Malaysia. In his speech, Mr. Venner indicated that Florsheim were bringing in more contemporary designs and styles to attract younger customers. He went on to say that the demand for casual shoes is expanding and people want nice designs as well as comfort. Florsheim is confident that people will pay for the price of quality as each pair has a life span of 5 years minimum but he advises that each pair should be worn on alternate days to avoid wear and tear.

For the men’s collection, the Dress collection offers a variety of polished leather shoes in various rich tones of brown with baroque detailing to clean sleek silhoeuttes for the man who loves the minimalist understated look.

For those who are in search of form, function and comfort, Florhsheim’s Comfortechnology collection comes with the Comfortechnology PU footbed with Suedetec inside the shoe and double elastic gore for added comfort.

Those looking for casual shoes will find a variety of loafers and half boots at Florsheim. Given their reputation for durability, they may well be worth the price as you won’t need to replace them every year.

In the women’s collection, Florsheim introduces patent wedges in exciting bright colours of electric blue and turquoise. For work or play, Florsheim’s must-haves this season are in shiny striking colours.

Florsheim has something for everyone, whether you’re looking for heels or flats. Their ballerina flats come in a variety of colours : royal blue, sea green, sunglow, summer rose and many more. They seem to be quite bendable too which makes for hardy shoes. Bows are in at Florsheim, very feminine!

There are kitten heels in black and white animal prints. Check out the black “alligator skin” kitten heels and the thigh-high boots, very sexy and alluring!

Florsheim outlets are located at 1 Utama, KLCC and Empire Subang.
