Much as I liked the decor of the stage where GPS presented their “LoVe London” Showcase with cardboard cut-outs of the British guards, the placement of the same at the sides of the stage proved to be a problem as I could hardly get a clear shot of the models as they appeared on stage. I had to delete a lot of shots as they had the guard’s black hat blocking the view.
Anyway that minor issue aside, it was a fantastic show as can only be expected of veteran designers Allan Chan and Tino Soon. Graffi Tee has statements printed on to their shirts and is a fun collection which brings out some of the best in Brit wit.
Philosophy Men pays homage to British holidays in Brighton, Bath and Gibraltar. The selection is influenced by clear skies of blue and pure dew drops and sailor stripes make its stand. This is a colourful and cute collection, one that is truly suitable for our humid weather.
Salabianca pays tribute to British social events such as the Chelsea Flower Show and the Derby with its proper and stylish attendees. There are organza tea dresses, summer tailored dresses and The Queen’s jewel collection printed on cheeky tees. Heavily influenced by the botanical gardens, there are flora and fauna 3D applique with organza, net and a lot of pretty pastels.
What a showcase! There were so many designs and it was simply a visual feast.
