Coffee Bean Tea Leaf at Lot 10 is very spacious and not as busy as their other outlets in shopping malls. I like the comfortable seats and during a weekday lunch hour, most of the customers are office staff or the occasional tourist.

They offer an all-day breakfast menu and Eggs Benedict with tea/coffee was RM17.30 or RM18.35 if you include tax. Dome offers the same set at RM25. I believe that if you offer something on the menu, then make sure you get it right otherwise don’t offer it.

Eggs Benedict is a classic breakfast or brunch dish and even novices should be able to get it almost right. After all, how difficult is it to make poached eggs? The egg white should be set and the yolk remain soft. Of course, it would be great if paired with bacon but at CBTL, they pair it with turkey ham which I knew would not make this dish awesome.

This dish came with a small salad which was very palatable thanks largely to the almond flakes. The eggs were a bit overcooked, yolks weren’t all that runny. I can’t rave about this, I think it was average and the serving is smaller than at Dome (I know, since Dome charges RM25 the serving is naturally bigger).

Big cup of tea though which came with hot milk. I can’t tell you how many places never ever offer milk with tea. I was at a Dome outlet last week, ordered English Breakfast which didn’t come with tea. I asked the waitress for hot milk and she repeated “hot milk” and the milk never ever arrived. Talk about the request falling on deaf ears!
