bareMinerals Skincare

L to R – Purifying Foam Cleanser, Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser, Hydrate & Nourish Moisturizer

The key ingredient in bareMinerals’ skincare is their proprietary RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex which they claim to deliver transformational skin-renewing benefits. These benefits include faster cell turnover, smaller-looking pores, increased luminosity and smoother, softer skin.

The complex contains a comprehensive blend of beneficial macro and micro minerals. All skincare products are formulated without parabens, synthetic fragrances and artificial oils. I like the boxes these products come in as they are ultra-feminine and all the products are packed in plastic bags within the boxes. These are the 3 skincare products I have been using for the past few weeks.

Purifying Foam Cleanser 140ml/RM89

This is a luxurious, frothy foam that I absolutely love to use because it’s so thick that it is like a buffer between my palms and my face. That’s the way it should be ideally when we use cleansing foam according to Japanese cleansing methods, i.e. that our palm should not be touching our face directly.

I have used other instant foam (that you don’t need to add water to) before but this is by far the best because it feels so good on my skin that it keeps me wanting more but 3 pumps is all I need. It does have an exfoliating formula as it is said to remove old surface skin cells to prevent dullness and improve clarity. Ingredients include ActiveSoil Complex, Grape Seed Oil, Avocado Oil and Starfruit.

Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser  70g/RM112

The Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser can be used in 2 ways, as a cleanser and a mask. It is a powder which has to be added with a few drops of water to create a light froth. I rub my palms together before applying the cleanser on to my face.

Although not as foamy as the Purifying Foam Cleanser, this cleanser leaves my skin feeling softer, smoother and more hydrated than the latter. I like this one a bit more because of that although both cleansers do not remove all traces of make-up. Ingredients include ActiveSoil Complex, Yucca Extract, Colloidal Oatmeal, Natural Rice Powder, powerful antioxidants and natural botanicals.

Hydrate & Nourish Moisturizer 115ml/RM119

This one contains more than twice as much moistrurizer as the average moisturizer which is normally just 50ml. There are moisturizers for 3 skin types and the one I have is for dry skin. It is a 2-in-1 formula which combines the benefits of a softener with an emulsion.

Most moisturizers for dry skins seem to have heavy and thick textures but not this one. However, I did not like the scent of this moisturizer, so much so that I don’t look forward to using it. It’s a good quality moisturizer in that it certainly gives hydration to my skin and softens it but I can’t used to the scent which is very minerally!

All products are available exclusively at Sephora,

  1. Miss, I think you used the Purifying Foam Cleanser swatch for the Hydrate & Nourish Moisturizer la. How do you use the Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser as a mask anyway? o.O

    • True also. Thanks for spotting. Image has been duly replaced. Just leave the Cleanser on your face for a few minutes before washing off, better exfoliating effect.
