A New Era Of Integrated Longevity: Sanctuary Wellness Center Celebrates Grand Opening In Kuala Lumpur

29th April 2026 marked a significant shift in Malaysia’s healthcare landscape with the grand opening of Sanctuary Wellness Center. Located in the heart of Taman Desa at Wisma Miramas, the facility officially opened its doors to redefine holistic care by merging clinical psychiatry with cutting-edge bio-hacking and functional medicine.

The center was officiated by YB Teresa Kok, Member of Parliament for Seputeh, who was joined by a star-studded guest list including Zain Saidin, Baki Zainal, Peter Davis, Lavin Seow, Zoee Tan, Yelin and Chan Khye.

“The growing awareness around mental health and overall well-being in Malaysia makes centers like Sanctuary highly relevant,” stated YB Teresa Kok during the ceremony. “It is encouraging to see community-focused solutions that support Malaysians in leading healthier, more balanced lives.”

Where Science Meets Soul: The Sanctuary Philosophy

Founded on the principle of “Holistic Care for Body & Mind,” Sanctuary isn’t just a wellness center; it is a high-performance hub designed to help individuals navigate stress, trauma, and aging. By combining evidence-based psychology with advanced biological interventions, the center targets health at the cellular level.

Founded by Visionaries in Integrated Medicine

The center is led by two of Malaysia’s most respected experts in their respective fields:

Dr. Renee Tan Huey Jing, a consultant psychiatrist with extensive experience in Malaysia’s public and private healthcare sectors, holds a Master’s Degree in Psychological Medicine from University of Malaya. She has served in multiple major hospitals. With specialized training in psychotherapy approaches such as EMDR and Interpersonal Therapy, Dr. Tan brings deep clinical expertise in mental health, trauma, and emotional well-being.

“Mental health is an essential part of overall well-being, yet it is often overlooked. At Sanctuary, we aim to provide a safe, compassionate, and evidence-based environment where individuals can receive the support they need to heal, grow, and function better in their daily lives.” said Dr.Renee.

Dr. Edward Chan, (PhD Psychologist & Integrative Medicine Expert): With doctoral research from the University of Oxford, post-doctoral research and fellowship with the European Council of Aging Research & Education (ECARE), accredited by the European Society of Preventive, Regenerative & Anti-Aging Medicine (ESAAM) and 20 years of experience, Dr. Chan is a pioneer in anti-aging and functional medicine. His work focuses on optimizing brain health and longevity, bridging the gap between psychology and biology.

“True wellness goes beyond treating symptoms,” says co-founder Dr. Edward Chan. “It is about optimizing the mind, body, and biological systems together to achieve long-term resilience and vitality.”
