A Place My Furry Friends Can Hang Out

As a dog owner, I love my dogs truly, madly and deeply without reservations or conditions. They are indoor pets and get treated frequently to rawhide snacks and rides in the car. I believe that a pet is for life and since they will stick with us through thick and thin, for better or for worse, they should be treated like family members or perhaps in some cases, even better than family members.

It’s a pity that there’s still a lack of respect and recognition for animals here. Dogs are still frowned upon in most public spaces and I doubt they will ever be welcome in many public parks. Sometimes when I watch tv documentaries of life in foreign countries, I wish we had more cafes which cater to pets. Well there is such a place at Ikano Power Centre within The Pet Safari and I just stumbled upon it today while looking for Frontline for my dogs. I didn’t see Blink Pets Bakery when I entered the shop but certainly didn’t miss it on my way out.

Blink Pets Bakery offers a variety of cookies, all of which look tempting for humans. Most of the cookies are sold at RM8 per 100g which I think is reasonable as they are made with key ingredients like carob and yoghurt. There are cheezy cookies, apple cookies, chicken jerky, whole fish jerky, cheezy sesame stick, peanut butter cookies, honey oat cookies and cranberry cookies. Your dog will be so spoilt for choice here that he/she will be begging you to get them all.

If cookies aren’t your dog’s thing, there are cute muffins, petcarons, chicken puff, dognuts, pupcakes, beef meatball and lamb pie. There’s a small dining area where dogs can make some friends while they chow down.

As Halloween is round the corner, there are Halloween inspired creations which look too good to eat. My dogs absolutely love the apple cookies in the shape of (what else?) apples and I am sure they’d love to sit at this cafe and be indulged. They deserve the pampering for the unlimited love and affection they shower on us everyday.
