1st Staycation Of 2025: Ramada Suites By Wyndham Kuala Lumpur City Centre

Ramada Suites By Wyndham Kuala Lumpur City Centre is a 4-star urban hotel situated right in the heart of the Bukit Bintang area within walking distance of Pavilion KL, Sungei Wang Plaza, Berjaya Times Square and even Lalaport. This is where I stayed a night on Monday. Checking in was so fast, I requested for a room on the upper floors and stayed on the 17th floor of the hotel (there are higher floors but the suites on those floors are privately owned).

One of the best things about staying here (other than the convenience of being in the middle of KL’s shopping and business hub) is the free parking. Guests are given a season parking card and there are always plenty of parking spots with easy access to the lobby lift. The elevators are fast with hardly a wait.

My Studio Executive room was spacious, not huge although it has space for a small kitchenette and sofa. It has a fantastic and clear view of Menara 118. 4 bottles of mineral water are provided along with a kettle and coffee machine. Having bottles of mineral water means being able to bring them along when you take a walk.

The washroom has the usual toiletries but it lacks a dustbin (there was only 1 small bin in the room which was overflowing the next day). The sink area is a bit too small, not enough room for skincare/makeup especially if 2 ladies are occupying the room). The shower stall could also do with 2 tubes of shower gel rather than 1. There’s also a tube of shampoo and conditioner. Next to the sink is a refillable liquid hand wash dispenser.

If you love to be among KL’s best shopping malls, take a short stroll to the Pavilion KL/Sungei Wang Plaza/Lot 10 area. It’s a bit of a steep walk along the way but if I can walk that way, anyone can. It isn’t that strenuous although I wouldn’t walk in mid-day heat. There are many restaurants around the hotel if you don’t feel like taking a walk to the crowded Bukit Bintang malls.

The hotel’s wi-fi doesn’t require a password. There’s a plug point on the work desk and beside the bed but I always feel there should be one or two more in hotels as there are so many devices to charge, other than our phones.

Breakfast is on the 9th floor, next to the pool. As you partake of your breakfast (the croissants and omelet are excellent), you can hear guests splashing away. There’s not much variety but I have to say the quality is there.

Overall, it was a rather pleasant staycation and I enjoyed it a lot. I was supposed to attend a media event on Tuesday morning but that’s the one they so rudely rejected me after inviting me so it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I got more out of my brief staycation at the Ramada Suites KLCC. Staycations are great for reenergizing the mind, body and soul.
