Mentholatum introduces its latest lip balm, Deep Moist in an oval tube. It looks like a lighter actually, the tube is dark green and it’s very lightweight. It has the unique oval shape so that it won’t roll away on a flat surface and to fit the corner of the mouth well.
This one has these key ingredients:-
Hyaluronic Acid
Holds more water than any natural substance of up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Also able to lock-in the skin’s moisture and provides long lasting moisture so that lips stay plump and moisturised.
Jojoba Oil and Avocado Oil
Jojoba Oil being very similar to our human sebum that is produced by our sebaceous glands, can function as a substitute in giving similar benefits to or skin. Our lips have no sebaceous glands and therefore can’t produce sebum like skin on other parts of our body. Jojoba Oil gives our lips that protective layer. Jojoba Oil contains anti-oxidants which protects our lips from the damaging effects of free radicals.
Avocado Oil is high in Vitamin E and Sterolins which help to soften the skin and gives superior moisturizing effect. It also contains a nourishing compound that regenerates and rejuvenates the skin.
Shea Butter
Shea Butter is rich with vitamins A, E and F, which are needed for good skin balance. It is able to penetrate deep into the skin to help restore elasticity of the skin while at the same time protects the lips from excessive dryness and sun damage. It also absorbs deeply into the skin without leaving any greasy residue like petroleum and mineral oil based products.
Anti-Oxidants
Vitamin E is the most effective anti-oxidant and vital in protecting the skin cells from ultra violet rays, pollution, drugs and free radicals.
There are 2 Mentholatum Deep Moist variants available, Menthol and Fragrance Free. Mine is in Menthol and feels like I am applying Vicks to my lips, very pepperminty. Frankly, I would prefer Fragrance Free as I am not a fan of peppermint at all. However, there is no doubt that it is hydrating. While the shape of the lip balm is unique, I somehow prefer round lip balms.
