Inspired by the Japan’s mid-autumn harvest moon festival, Sungei Wang Plaza welcomes shoppers to an ‘Aspiring Mid-Autumn’ from now until 4th October 2020 to evokes a sense of joy and wonder for the shoppers.
“In our pursuit of enhancing shopping experience for everyone, Sungei Wang Plaza has started undergoing asset enhancement initiative since 2019 to give a fresh look to the mall and our commitment has not stopped by the pandemic. During this RMCO, we strive to continue our dedication in bringing aspiration and joy to the people through experiencing a Japanese culture of moon harvest festival,” says Centre Manager of Sungei Wang Plaza, Mr Joseph Teo.
The mall is transformed into an insta-worthy contemporary Japanese garden with deciduous trees, roof tops with view of a full moon and not to forget our main attraction of a massive collection of 800 lanterns at the Sky Lantern Wishing Street. A giant full moon will be seen at our centre court which brings at early scent of autumn that symbolizing a new hope for similar bounty in the future.
Sky Lantern Wishing Street
Light up your wishes at our Sky Lantern Wishing Street located at Sungei Wang Walk (Jalan Sultan Ismail). Shopper can take selfies and wefies to be on trend of the Mid-Autumn festival. They can also obtain their message cards from our Information Counter (Concourse Area) by donating RM5. All proceeds from the donation will be channelled to the underprivileged home.
Japanese Kimono Costume Experience
Get dressed up in a traditional kimono (national garment of Japan) by donating any amount and take photos with them at our Japanese themed Mid-Autumn decoration to make this short and sweet experience at Sungei Wang Plaza a memorable one. All proceeds from the donation will be channelled to the underprivileged home.

Aspiring Festive Activities
Enrich your festive season experience with a breath-taking performance by a 24 Festive Drums troupe on 12, 19 and 27 September 2020 at 2pm at Main Entrance, Sungei Wang Plaza. Children aged 3 to 17 are welcomed to sign up via online to participate in the fun-filled 3D pen miniature workshops conducted by MinNature Malaysia for free!
