Malaysia’s young fashion ambassadors ruled the runway at the grand launch of Stories, a first ever initiative spearheaded by Avenue K Shopping Mall. Situated at the Mezzanine Floor, Stories comes alive through a narration of exciting discoveries,
Stories begins chapter one with a tale of Fashion, Art, Café. Here, fashion and passion come together, where art is appreciated and talent can flourish. Through a homegrown collaboration with ESMOD Kuala Lumpur (an affiliation of ESMOD Paris) and Malaysia’s celebrated fashion designer Eric Choong, Avenue K brings local fashion to the forefront.
ESMOD Kuala Lumpur opened its doors in 2012 to aspiring fashion designers, offering a world-class fashion education that embraced the teaching ideas, content, methods, and materials of ESMOD Paris.
During the grand launch of Stories, a fashion show featuring the collection of ESMOD Kuala Lumpur’s young designers including bunbun by Tay Sin Yee, MOM by Shawn Er, HOMUN HOOI by Hooi Ho Mun, scotty. by Scott Tian, Vibrate Malaysia by Joanne See, GIOVANI PHANDI by Giovani Phandi, Lhy by Liew Hui Ying, lazyheads by Will Lim & Au Ee, Angel Pong by Pong Zi-Qing Angel, and LIREN by Liren Ho convinced the audience that KL is home to the future of fashion.
The Art of Eric Choong showcases stunning wearable art inspired by the centuries-old craft of Batik textile design. By integrating traditional Malaysian ethnic elements into his design concepts, Eric is able to raise awareness of Southeast Asia’s cultural concepts, creating complex multi-coloured designs in a multitude of possibilities.
Shoppers who spend a minimum of RM150 in a single receipt at The Art of Eric Choong or any ESMOD Kuala Lumpur’s designer brands from 19th to 22nd September 2019 will be rewarded with a token to try their luck at the Claw Machine.
Shoppers also stand a chance to try their luck at the Mystery Gift Machine from 19th September to 20th October 2019 with a minimum spend of RM150 in a single receipt at The Art of Eric Choong or any ESMOD Kuala Lumpur’s designer brands.
Stories is also a space where style enthusiasts can whet their appetite for fashion, as well as food. Situated within a picturesque green space in the heart of the city, the nature-loving Midorie Café serves an assortment of light bites and refreshing drinks infused with flowers and herbs. Discover how you can green the world with Midorie’s organic, soil-free invention and enjoy a complimentary cup of Flower Tea with a purchase of any waffle from 19th September to 18th October 2019.
