Spoon Cafe G Hotel Kelawai Penang

The design of the café features Peranakan motif cement tiles on its flooring, wooden dining tables and chairs

During the last week of June, I was eating very good food in Penang and that included a set dinner at Spoon Cafe, G Hotel Kelawai. Spoon is a classy cafe which is cosy with just 120 seats. Go during dinner and you have practically the emtire cafe to yourself. I am not sure why it isn’t more popular though as their set dinner is really worth the price at just RM48 and that includes appetizer, main course, dessert of the day and coffee/tea. I reckon just their main course alone is worth RM48!

Their Set Dinner menu for June/July:

This set dinner is such great value

The appetizer was either salad or soup. The main courses had 5 options which is a lot. I was sorely tempted to choose the Moroccan Lamb Stew but we all chose the Atlantic Salmon which is far more tempting than the Lamb Stew.

Daily Fresh Pick Salad Leaf
Seared Salmon
Dessert of the Day

Every course was delicious and we were all so satisfied with the Main Course. The piece of salmon was seared to prefection, crispy skin and soft flesh which was complemented beautifully with the sauce. Truly a marvelous meal which I feel more people should know about. Service was impeccable and the price
