Sakae Sushi Cheras Leisure Mall

Walking into Sakae Sushi at Cheras Leisure Mall, I was surprised to see how many tables there were but I am sure they are all fully occupied during weekends when shoppers throng the mall. My friend asked me whether I wanted to have lunch at the Korean restaurant upstairs or Sakae Sushi. I don’t mind Korean but if there’s a Japanese option, I’m more likely to go for the latter.

As we were there before 12pm, we missed out on their lunch specials which start from 12pm, Those specials are really worth the price as you get to choose a pink plate worth RM4 from the sushi conveyor belt on top of your lunch set which starts from just RM12+.

Sakae Sushi Cheras Leisure Mall is a quiet place to enjoy an early lunch

kamo

Oh well….sometimes the early bird doesn’t get the lunch specials so I had the Smoked Kamo which is Ramen with Smoked Duck, egg and vegetables. There were 4 slices of duck, half an egg, plenty of vegetables but not so generous a portion of ramen. For RM17.98, there could have been a bit more ramen in this bowl.

tenzaru cha

My friend has the Tenzaru Cha Soba @ RM17.98 which is a set with cold green tea noodles, prawn tempura and vegetables. She liked this and I thought it was nicely presented with a quail’s egg on top of wasabi.

  1. I am a Sakae Member but I haven’t gone there lately. You’re lucky to have gone there before the GST kicked in. Unless they decide to absorb the GST for the time being, their prices may not be the same now.
