Youth Xtend range
ARTISTRY™, the prestige beauty brand of AMWAY introduced members of the media to a comprehensive collection of 8 skincare products in the YOUTH XTEND™ range. YOUTH XTEND™ will be available here in Malaysia in December and Malaysia is the 3rd country in the world where you can get this range after Thailand and Korea. It’ll only be available in USA in September 2013. YOUTH XTEND™ will replace the current Time Defiance range which will then be discontinued.

The range is targeted at ladies (and men) aged between 25 to mid-40s. Speaking at the launch, Jesse Leverett, ARTISTRY’s Senior Research Scientist revealed, “As early as age 25, many women begin to show the first signs of aging – fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet and loss of skin clarity and radiance – due in part to the cumulative effects of free radical damage, including exposure to sun and pollution, stress, certain lifestyle habits, genetics and wear and tear of life.”
Jesse went on to explain the key ingredients and benefits of YOUTH XTEND™. I felt this was one of the better product launches I’ve attended as the brand’s Senior Research Scientist was present to explain the science behind the products and we could ask him any questions which weren’t covered in his presentation. He was thorough and engaging, explaining why the brand chose one of the key ingredients, Sirtuin (youth protein) over Resveratrol (the antioxidant found in red wine). According to Jesse, Lifesirt is more stable and effective than Resveratrol and helps reprogram’s skin’s future for younger looking skin.
During the press conference, I asked them what would be their one product recommendation. Maud Pansing, VP of Global Beauty, Amway replied that she’d recommend the Serum Concentrate which can be incorporated into anyone’s skincare regimen and complement their existing skincare. It’s obvious that the Serum Concentrate is the product with the highest concentration of active ingredients in the range.
After the press conference, I asked Jesse if there was any difference (other than that the day care products contain sunscreen) in the Protecting Lotion & Protecting Cream SPF 15 (both for day care) and the Enriching Lotion & Enriching Cream (both for night care). He said that there was no difference in the ingredients, the only difference would be in the texture of the day and night moisturisers as the night moisturisers are richer.
