During lunch time at MyTown, there’s one eatery which has long queues daily and it’s not surprising as their Lunch Set is indeed good value at RM22 (price exclusive of SST). myBurgerLab offers this price for any single patty burger which comes with a sides of your choice + a drink (soft drink is refillable). There are more than a few burgers on the menu to choose from, whether you prefer beef, vegetarian, fish or chicken.
The burgers have quirky names such as Beautiful Mess, Hangover, The Bomb, The Juicy Lucy, Vivien’s Husband, Captain Hook, The Ultraman, Gorgeous Chick and the list goes on. You can also create your own lab burger but that’s not part of the Lunch Set. Thee were 3 of us at this lunch and each of us chose a different burger with different sides.
One of us ordered Beautiful Mess with Fries. This burger lives up to its name as my friend realised too late that the sauce had dripped on to her shirt and handbag. It took her ages to clean it all up. Beautiful Mess consists of Cheddar Beef, Portobella Mushroom Strips, Omega-3 Egg and Honey Mustard.
Another one of us had Captain Hook with Salsa Nachos (the lime salsa is amazing and we asked for seconds!) which is what I should have ordered. This is Fried Tilapia Fish, paired with Onions, Cilantro, spicy and tangy Bell Pepper Relish & Kelantanese Budu Sauce. This burger is delicious and has the right amount of sauce so it’s not so much of a mess while consuming.
I had The Bomb with Mash Potato (choice of Mushroom or Beef Gravy) which is a spicy Cheddar Beef with Onion Rings, Sriracha Chilli Sauce and an Omega-3 Egg. This one was a bit too soggy for my taste, the Onion Rings didn’t have that crispiness any more and the bottom of the bun came apart easily because it was so soaked with sauce. All I remember about the taste is that the patty was very tender but everything else was soggy.
The best part of the meal wasn’t my burger, it was these wonderful Mushroom Fries. So hot and crispy and they are generous with the mushrooms as well as the accompanying dips. Would definitely order the Mushroom Fries again on my next visit to myBurgerLab.
