Light & Lush : Fresh Rose Hydrating Gel Cream

Fresh’s Rose Hydrating Gel Cream is a daily moisturizer for all skin types that contains pure rosewater which has been used since antiquity for its astringent properties. The brand’s entire Rose Collection takes a cue from Cleopatra’s beauty secrets, she was believed to have used copious and what would today be deemed as unseemly wasteful amounts of roses as part of her beauty rituals.

It is a well known fact that the rose yields an incredibly precious oil brimming with nutrients that help to hydrate, soothe, tone and restore the skin which is why many other beauty brands have made use of this flower as a key ingredient in some of their skincare.

There is something rather soothing about gel moisturizers and this contains cucumber extract to calm and cool skin. Oily skins should benefit from this gel moisturizer as it is probably less likely to clog up pores than cream type moisturizers. In fact, I am also steering clear of heavier moisturizers and these days as those seem to cause acne to pop up now and then.

Scent of the Rose Hydrating Gel Cream is not at all overpowering nor artificial. Although my skin feels hydrated after application, I need a more heavy-duty moisturizer at night. This is a good day moisturizer for my dry skin. If you don’t have dehydrated skin like mine, this one will probably suffice for day and night use.

Great that it comes in a 50ml pump bottle as it is much more hygienic that way. Available exclusively at Sephora and retails at RM149.
