Laneige Water Bank Essence

We know that skin hydration is important even for those with oily skins and as we grow older, our skin needs more hydration. Laneige Water Bank skincare range has seen the products reformulated with the additions of new products such as the Water Bank Mineral Skin Mist and Water Bank Moisture Full Ampoule.

The first thing that struck me about the Water Bank Essence was how much bigger the bottle was compared to most other brands’ serums. The Water Bank Essence comes in a 60ml (yes, 60ml, not 50ml!) pump bottle. Most other brands’ serums are only 30ml so 60ml is double the size of the average serum. This alone makes the Water Bank Essence good value for money. The glass bottle feels heavy and the appearance is that of a product which looks more expensive than it actually is.

I need 2 pumps of the Water Bank Essence for my face and neck. It has a mild scent and comes out in a gel form. On contact with my skin, it feels slightly cooling and turns into a watery texture which is what I like about Korean made hydrating serums. The Elianto Organic Hydra Serum is somewhat similar to the Water Bank Essence. My skin feels damp and moist as soon as the Water Bank Essence has been applied.

According to the product information sheet within the box, the Water Bank Essence contains mineral water for regeneration and provides 24-hour long-lasting moisture. I won’t go so far as to say that the Water Bank Essence provides me with 24-hour hydration, that would be stretching it but my skin does feel like it is moisturised for at least half a day.

Laneige Water Bank Essence retails at RM165.
