Gala Launch Of Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2012

Minister of Tourism, YB Dato’ Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen officiating the Gala Launch

The Malaysia International Gourmet Festival is an integral part of Tourism Malaysia’s “Fabulous Food 1Malaysia” initiative, which promotes the country’s unique, multicultural food capabilities to the world.

This year’s theme of “Classical Chefs – A Symphony of Great Cuisines” was chosen to symbolise and celebrate the roots and traditions of good and honest cooking. The stellar line-up for MIGF 2012 includes restaurants specialising in Japanese, Korean, Thai, Lebanese, French, Italian and Latin American alongside ones serving dishes from Malaysia’s own rich food heritage.

From 1st to 31st October 2012, local diners and international visitors are in for a real treat as 28 of Malaysia’s finest restaurants serve up Special Festival Menus at Special Festival prices accompanied by a host of Special Festive Offers.

Additionally, and for the first time ever, the general public will also be able to get a preview of things to come as the organisers introduce a spectacular new preview event, Taste MIGF which will take place at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre from 11am to 11pm on Friday 28th September 2012.

Taste MIGF will allow tourists and the general public to sample food from the festival restaurants as they gather under one roof in the specially designed Theatre of Cuisines. Taste MIGF will also feature a Gourmet Village and a range of Master Chef  cooking classes headed by Malaysia’s own food tourism ambassador, Chef Wan.
