ABC Cooking Studio @ Pavilion Elite

dsc_0148ABC Cooking Studio @ Pavilion Elite opened last December. ABC Cooking Studio started its business in a one floor building in Shizuoka, Japan in 1985. Now there are over 135 studios in Japan and 16 studios in major cities in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand and of course Malaysia.

Classes are conducted in a communal classroom with 4 students per class maximum. As the classroom consists of several tables, many classes can be held simultaneously which is a good idea as you can check out what another class is cooking up. There are a few ovens in the classroom and ample space to move around.

An initial registration fee of RM250 is required and one can then choose whatever course one fancies, be it Kids, Wagashi (Japanese desserts), Bread or Cake Courses. Take the Cake Course for example, members can sign up for 6, 12 or 18 lessons from the Basic Course. Members who have completed 18 lessons of the Basic Course can then go on to take the Master Course. One can participate in up to 6 different lessons every month for the Cake Course. All courses have to be completed within a stipulated time but members have the freedom to choose whatever lessons they like within that period.

If I was a member, the first course I would choose would be the Wagashi Course as the Japanese desserts look amazing and I’d want to learn how to create such beautiful and unique desserts.
