Pureology Hydrate

pure

Pureology is a salon haircare brand for coloured hair, they have ZeroSulfate® shampoos and the exclusive AntiFadeComplex®. Their products are 100% vegan. My hair hasn’t been in the best condition lately, being dry and coarse so a hydrating shampoo and condition are definitely what my hair needs.

The Hydrate® Shampoo has a sulfate-free, salt-free, colour-preserving formula derived from coconut, corn and sugar. The scent is superb as it is a combination of ylang ylang, bergamot, anise and patchouli. To smell it is to love it. It felt so good to use this shampoo, just wanted to leave it on for as long as possible. It didn’t tangle up my hair and I felt like I could even do without the conditioner.

No wonder this shampoo has won a string of awards including OK Magazine’s Beauty Awards 2012 for Best Shampoo and Totalbeauty.com’s Editor’s Choice 2010 for Best Shampoo for Dry Hair. If I had an award to give, my vote would be for this shampoo too. The colour of the shampoo is a light shade of purple, very beautiful colour!

The Hydrate® Condition gives a tingling, refreshing and cooling sensation when it touches my neck. It has a strong peppermint scent like toothpaste. It contains peppermint and corn mint essential oils, hence the tingling feeling on my skin.

Other than detangling my unmanageable hair, it’s left my hair soft and not at all coarse for days after the shampoo. Usually my hair feels rough after a shampoo and I need to use hair oils the next day but with this shampoo and conditioner, my hair doesn’t feel dry even though 2 days have passed since using them.

The Hydrate® Shampoo & Condition (250ml/RM78 & RM85) are in limited edition packaging. With the sale of these products and other fundraising efforts, Pureology will contribute to Green Cross International’s clean water programs, and other approved local initiatives. Whenever consumers purchase products from this stunning collection, one Euro will go to Green Cross International. The vibrant artwork on Limited Edition packaging is a compilation of drawings by school children at the Makango School in Northern Ghana.
