Clinelle has been around since 2004 and their products are mostly available at chain and independent pharmacies in Malaysia. Unique to Clinelle is their RX3 Action™ to repair, refine and reshield skin. I’ve always thought of their products as being affordably priced (4 out of the 5 products reviewed here are below RM50).
Deep Cleansing Gel
for normal to oily skin
Out of all the products I received for review, the Deep Cleansing Gel is the only one for oily skin and so I thought it would strip my skin of moisture. However, it was all right and was even effective in removing my make-up without making my skin feel tight and uncomfortable.
This gel cleanser has a botanical scent and lathers up quite well but not the kind of lather you would expect from foaming cleansers since this is NOT a foaming cleanser. With cleansers, I prefer that they come in pump bottles for convenience in the shower but this one’s in a flip-top squeeze tube. After squeezing out the appropriate amount, there might be some residue on the tube cover.

Skin Smoothing Scrub
for normal to dry skin
This semi-opaque scrub has very fine granules and is so mild that I’m sure it’d be suitable for sensitive skins. Personally, I find it too mild for my purpose. I prefer exfoliators which I can really feel my skin being smoothened and this one didn’t provide that effect to my satisfaction.
It has liquid and mechanical exfoliation functions, I presume mechanical means it has an abrasive effect? I’ve washed off the scrub a few seconds after massaging it in and I’ve also left it on my face like a mask while I shower but the effect’s the same. I just need a stronger scrub than this.
Skin Smoothing Scrub is 50ml/RM26.90.
Soothing Skin Toner
for normal to dry skin
Now this is one Clinelle product I really, really like because it is soothing and the scent appeals to me. I can even use this one as a mask with one of those compressed masks. I like this toner enough to buy a bottle when I run out. I know there are 2 schools of thought on whether one really needs toner. I’ve always used toners and I’d feel like something was missing from my beauty regime if I skipped toner. Yes, I’m one of those people who can’t live without toner.
Soothing Skin Toner is 200ml/RM33.90.
Moisture Booster
for all skin types
This is the hydrating serum which is for all skin types, it’s oil-free. It has a gel texture and has a lovely scent which makes me want to use more of it or should I say use it more often. Gives skin a very soft, velvety feel as soon as it’s been absorbed.
Moisture Booster is 20ml/RM72.90.
Intense Skin Moisturizer
for normal to dry skin
Since this moisturizer is for dry skin, it is creamy but not too thick as to be sticky and uncomfortable on application. Together with the Moisture Booster, they provide my dry skin with enough hydration for day and night.
Intense Skin Moisturizer is 50ml/RM36.90.
Overall, I like these products and would purchase the toner, serum and moisturizer since they are very reasonably priced for the quality. This is one of those rare instances where the quality of the products is far higher than the retail price. Clinelle Eye Bright review coming up soon.
