Of course, no visit to Cappadocia, Turkey would be complete without getting on a hot air balloon or at the very least, gazing at them from the ground. We set out from our hotel in Cappadocia at 7am but we didn’t have time for a 1-hour ride on a hot air balloon. If we wanted that option, we would have had to get there much earlier to catch the sunrise. It would be a spectacular and unforgettable sight looking down at the valleys and rock formations.
As the bus approached our drop-off point, we could already see hundreds of balloons in the air. It’s a beautiful sight to see them soaring upwards. It was a cold, chilly morning and despite my coat, I was shivering as I had forgotten to bring out my gloves which were in the luggage (we had checked out of the hotel en route to Istanbul).

We spent about half and hour there much to the dismay of our Turkish tour guide as he reminded us that we had a very long journey ahead of us and the bus driver could only work up to 9 hours, Everyone was so excited to see the balloons and we took countless photos as this is one of the most marvelous sights in Turkey.
