iCAUR V23 Awarded 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Rating

The iCAUR V23 has secured a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating with an overall score of 91.02 points, reaffirming iCAUR’s commitment to advanced safety and its unique “Born to Play” spirit

iCAUR Malaysia today announced that the iCAUR V23 has achieved a full 5-Star rating under the ASEAN New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asia (ASEAN NCAP), recording an overall score of 91.02 points.

The result reflects the strong performance of the iCAUR V23 across key assessment criteria, underscoring iCAUR’s commitment to delivering advanced safety and its distinctive “Born to Play spirit for customers.

Announcing the achievement, Chery Corporate Malaysia, Executive Vice President, Men Lin Bo, said, “The iCAUR V23 introduces an exciting and dynamic approach to EV mobility that also places vehicle safety at the forefront. This 5-Star ASEAN NCAP achievement reaffirms our commitment to delivering high levels of safety, while also demonstrating our strong support for the Malaysian government through close collaboration with agencies such as MIROS in advancing vehicle safety standards and awareness nationwide.”

The iCAUR V23 was assessed under the current 2021–2025 ASEAN NCAP assessment protocol, achieving 39.71 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 16.67 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP), 17.14 points for Safety Assist Technologies (SATs) and 17.50 points for Motorcyclist Safety (MS).

This comprehensive performance resulted in the 5-Star overall rating and positions the iCAUR V23 among the top-performing vehicles evaluated under the current 2021–2025 protocol, as well as the first fully electric off-road SUV to be assessed by ASEAN NCAP.

The iCAUR V23 combines rugged off-road ready capability with a comprehensive suite of safety technologies. The iCAUR V23’s strong structural foundation is built around a cage-like frame comprising 70% high-strength steel.

This rigidity is paired with a Battery Management System (BMS) that delivers high-voltage protection and precise liquid-cooled temperature management, ensuring the battery remains safe even in the event of a collision.

Together, these elements help ensure reliable protection under both everyday use and more challenging driving conditions.

Meanwhile, the iCAUR V23 features a comprehensive safety suite that includes six airbags and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) as standard across both 2WD and iWD variants.

The suite is further supported by a millimetre-wave radar integrated into the vehicle body to enhance detection accuracy across a wide range of driving environments.

The iCAUR V23 is offered as standard with the following ADAS features:

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
  • Drive Away Info (DAI)
  • Front Collision Warning (FCW)
  • Lane Change Warning (LCW)
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
  • Rear Collision Warning (RCW)
  • Lane Departure Prevention (LDP)
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Traffic Jam Assist (TJA)
  • Blindspot Detection (BSD)
  • Door Opening Warning (DOW)

The iCAUR V23’s strong ASEAN NCAP performance underscores the brand’s holistic approach to safety and its commitment to upholding high vehicle safety standards in Malaysia, delivering greater peace of mind for drivers and passengers alike.
