In a vibrant start to 2024, IOI Properties Group hosted not one, but two simultaneous New Year Countdown celebrations at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya and IOI Mall Puchong respectively.

Both events, organised in collaboration with Astro Radio, presented an unforgettable transition into the new year. Featuring electrifying stage performances by local artistes, delectable food truck delights, and a slew of other activities, the festivities were celebrated within a shared sense of optimism and cheer.

Following the success of last year’s countdown parties, IOI Properties Group ramped up the celebrations this time around in partnership with Astro Radio. The collaboration added a new layer of excitement, as on-air talent from the stations HITZ, ERA, MY, and GOXUAN played host throughout the night, entertaining audiences with their banter.

“We’re delighted by the turnout at both venues, and hope that those attending had as much fun as we did in organising these events. Through the years, our New Year Countdowns have always brought people together for an evening of cheer and positivity. This celebration was no different.

Both our malls welcomed many members of the community who joined us in ushering in 2024, and I would like to express my thanks to the amazing team who made it all happen. This is a grand start to 2024, and IOI Properties Group is excited by the opportunities the new year has for us!” said Chris Chong, IOI Properties Chief Operating Officer of Property Investment (Malaysia).

At IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, the extravaganza kicked off at 6pm at the Symphony East wing with audience giveaways – complemented with fire-eating and pyro performances – building anticipation among the crowd. The stage soon came alive with a diverse array of musical performances by top local stars, including Gary Chaw, Misha Omar, Amir Masdi, Ara Johari, Haqiem Rusli, Asyraf Nasir, Yonnyboii, Midnight Fusic, and FS (Fuying & Sam). Audiences were also treated to a special appearance by the young finalists from “The Chosen One”, the hit reality singing competition aimed at unearthing fresh talent.

Meanwhile, the stage at IOI Mall Puchong’s open-air carpark saw an equally stellar lineup of artistes, boasting the likes of Jeryl Lee, Jestinna Kuan, Perry Kuan, Nicole Lai, Jie Ying, Juztin Lan, Joe Chang, Jasmine Chang, Danial Wong, Jack Yap, and Te3n Official. Adding an energetic edge to the night were the awe-inspiring dance performances from the finalists of “Battleground Malaysia: Road to Gold”, Malaysia’s biggest street dance competition.

Going beyond musical and dance performances, an atmosphere of celebration was in the air at both venues as the many activities and food trucks offered up a carnival-like experience. There truly was something for everyone as children were also entertained by mascot appearances from beloved children’s shows.

As the clock struck midnight, the skyline at both IOI City Mall and IOI Mall Puchong burst into a mesmerising view of stunning firework displays, setting the night sky alight in a myriad of colours and made for a fitting end to the night.

With the range of performances and experiences offered, as well as enthusiastic audience turnout, both of IOI’s New Year Countdown festivities were a resounding success.
