Sometimes It’s A Miss When You Shop Online

dsc_8649When you are browsing an online shopping platform, most of the images look good which makes you tempted to place an order for something you don’t actually need. After the Adidas Women’s Day sale the first weekend of March, I had enough sandals. Then I saw this Buy 1 Free 1 offer on Shopee and placed an order for 2 pairs which got me 4 pairs. I can’t resist anything with Pink Panther and cat prints.

The delivery of the sandals took a little over a week which is quite fast considering these are not normal times. The sandals were individually wrapped in plastic then two pairs each wrapped in another plastic so they arrived in good condition. However I knew the quality was rather poor as soon as I touched them. They were so rubbery as if there was an extra layer that should have been placed.

These are clearly not sandals one can wear for any amount of time, let alone for hours. The soles looked flimsy as there were plastic joints that were not that secure. I wonder how long these will last. The design is nice but I feel like the manufacturer could have done a much better job for the sandals to be acceptable. I am sure no one would mind paying slightly more for better made sandals. They also have a strong rubbery smell which is off-putting.

So far I have had a lot of hits with my online purchases but these are definitely a miss. That’s the thing about online shopping – you never know what you are going to get. If I had seen these sandals in a shop, I wouldn’t have bought them no matter how cheap they were.
