It’s probably true to say that not everyone will appreciate MAC Mineralize Skinfinish because they’re not a staple like eye shadows, blush or lipsticks. However Mineralize Skinfinish are versatile in that they are multi-purpose as they can be used as a highlighter, bronzer, blush. They capture light and used in the right way, can enhance your features beautifully.

Anyway, Porcelain Pink Mineralize Skinfinish is a light shimmery and frosty pale coral-pink with gold veining, perfect for pale to medium complexions. It’s not to be used liberally of course but when you apply it on the high panels of the face, it can really make you look “oh-so-good”. At 10g, you can be using this for months and you won’t even scratch the surface.

  1. I would prefer the full sized brushes though it’ll be a little inconvenient for travelling. i personally feel that longer handle brushes allow easier, more stable and more precise handling, especially when it comes to eye makeup. I’m not into make up brushes, so I couldn’t really give opinion on which brand has the best make up brushes. Currently I’m using EcoTool brushes, and I’m quite satisfied with them, soft bristles and quite good in picking up colors. I have a few Definite brushes, a homegrown brand, which made of dense, super soft, high grade goat hairs. I would like to try out Real Techinique make up brushes by Youtube make up guru Samantha Chapman. Heard so much great things about it, many people raved over RT brushes. Made from super soft synthetic fibres that made them cruelty-free. These brushes were created with the aim everyone can create professional and polished look at home. It does sound promising, I’m gonna give it a try when the time comes, $$$ u know what i mean ;p

  2. 1. Personally I would not purchase the short handle brushes set. Logically thinking, when we are painting usually the gripness of long handle brush is always better. Likewise make up is like painting, the handgripness will certainly influence the outcome. So I will say traditional long handle brush will be more favorable if compare to short one.
    2. I do not know which brand have the best makeup brush as I do not venture into brush. Besides, I do think that out finger is the best brush!

  3. Ahhh I won’t go for brushes with short handles because the gripping is really important to me. Shorter handles might be more convenient to be brought around since it can save space but I would rather go for the full-sized brushes. I like to hold my brush as if I’m holding a painting brush and I can apply make up better with this holding gesture. To me, putting on make up on my face is just like painting on a canvas. Can a painter draw equally well when her painting brush is too short for comfortable holding and gripping? I just can’t haha, I feel crippled with the wrong brush. For the second question, I don’t really have an answer for that because I haven’t tried out all the good brushes out there so it’s unfair for me to make the judgement hehe~ Instead of commenting on which brand has the best make up brush, I would comment on “brand that produces make up brush that looks the best to me”. For this, I would definitely go for Hakuhodo brushes! I read about it from your blog and the brush looks so so so soft and I feel like trying them even more after you told me that the brushes are softer than tofu! I want to have a touch on the brush so much!

  4. I would not purchase Mac brushes from their brush sets as I feel the quality has been compromised due to the price factor. I feel the bristles are not as soft and dense as their original ones. The brand with the best brushes are koyudo and hakuhado from Japan. The bristles are made of real animal hair and the brushes are totally hand made. The hair to form the brush bristles and the shape of the brush are all done by hand. As the bristles are not cut by machine therefore they feel super soft when you use them on your face! They give you the softest sensation you can imagine! The result is flawless blending of product within the shortest time. They also produce brushes that look similar with nars famous kabuki brushes used as bronzer brush which I feel are overpriced. If you ever see a koyudo or hakuhado counter overseas or in Japan, I would highly recommend you to grab a few and trust me you won’t regret it. Japan hand made brushes are way better than most of the brushes out there including those from high end brands! The detail, skill and quality put into every single brush is definitely worth their price!

  5. Hi Juniper,

I would purchase the short handle brushes set. WHY? The handles are short, which makes it easy to get near the mirror, better control in application or to bring around when you travel. If you are like me and already own some of the brushes, it gives you variety. It’s super convenient. I practically bring it everyday and everywhere, it’s easy to carry.

  6. I prefer MAC Limited Edition Brush Sets (with shorter handles) because its easier for travelling purposes. The best make up brushes for me is the ecotools natural makeup brushes..its incredibly soft!! 😀

  7. Currently I would just use my fingers to put on my make-up for work. I have never tried or own make-up brushes as reviews of many different brands are just mixed. However if there is a need for better colour coordination, I would prefer the full-sized brushes as it gives a better coverage with its bristles and grip. I believe for new comers like me to graduate to using brushes, it will be much appreciated with the full-sized ones.

As for brands for the best brushes, I am not in the position to comment on any brands as I have never use brushes before. Would not be fair to any brands. In the meantime, I really welcome any reviews on the best brushes that are of natural fibers. Looking forward to all the good reviews as I am actually looking for good make-up brush sets for me to try on.

  8. I’m prefer the full sized brushes. It is compact, sleek looking and portable. Brush sets are not the same in quality as the Full Sized Brushes. Fibre used are generally rougher, and not as soft as Full Sized. Special edition brushes made by MAC that come in those cute lil travel cases are machine made.

For daily makeup application, the best polished look is with the full size brushes because
regular full-size MAC brushes are hand-made. Brushes are soft with soft bristles, and applies makeup on smoothly. It’s just that brushes seem to be the most consistent and for me they’re easier to get a hold of. I definitely like full sized brushes, they work good.

I wash it with mild dish washing liquid so the hairs wont fall out or get damaged. Air dry is best. As you can tell with the brushes set they make a difference on the way you look and apply makeup. Quality and major value for genuine MAC brushes and last such a long time.

I am very excited to own such professional equipment!! Get these a great investment.

  9. Thank Juniper for such awesome giveaway.

To tell you the truth, I haven’t own any good quality makeup brushes and I am not good in using them. I would purchase travel size brushes but the truth is those travel’s size brushes has low quality and are gone with just one usage. Although it may be good for travel because of their size, but what is good if it makes our makeup looks bad. I might as well just use my fingers or sponges.
