As part of its ongoing efforts to sustain the needs of some 200 canine rescues and its day-to-day operations, Lost Animal Souls Shelter – a no-kill animal welfare organisation located in Kuala Selangor, and dedicated to affording refuge and rehabilitation to destitute dogs is collaborating with food and beverage brand, KK Vege World Café, to roll out the LASS 2302 Brunch Crunch fundraiser.

Slated to kick off on 23 February 2020, the one-day Sunday special is open to the public and expects to host up to 100 diners between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. A thrill for pet lovers, it is also a bonding opportunity for families and friends seeking a meaningful afternoon. The event promises a celebration of good eats and hearty laughter shared with dear ones. Meanwhile, all proceeds will be channelled to the non-profit.

The main aim of the above initiative is to raise RM12,000 to cover the cost of vaccination and deworming treatments for all the inhabitants of Lost Animal Souls Shelter this year. Additional aspects requiring funding include feeding supplies, veterinary expenses, staff salaries, and monthly overheads, among other areas. The three chief revenue streams are prepaid RSVPs, goodwill donations, and themed merchandise sales.

“The work we do is essential for the survival of the many that rely on us to maintain a cruelty-free existence. Our troopers were once victims of severe injustices, rendering our pursuits a labour of love in every sense. The LASS commitment is defined by the ever-evolving needs of our healing sanctuary. Our devoted band of doers doesn’t believe in quitting. So, we press on,” said Vignes Chelliah, president and founder of LASS.

As official brunch provider and venue sponsor, the restaurant has offered up its dining space and culinary expertise in support of the wider cause. Guests will be treated to a feast of Chinese and Indian vegetarian dishes – a medley of homemade favourites served in a buffet-style setting – tailored to the local palate. Patrons with pre-purchased seats will be entitled to an hour of sampling from choice gourmet selections.

The four 60-minute slots are: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm • 12:00 – 1:00 pm • 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm • 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm..

Attendees have the luxury of picking their preferred dine-in time window in advance to secure their spots. Since this is a private function, the outlet will be closed to walk-ins throughout the duration of the buffet.

The reason a crowd cap is crucial is due to the fact that only a limited number of tables are up for grabs. As the setup locked in place is designed around pre-sold RSVPs, all bookings will be confirmed only afterpayment is received. Online transfers are to be made out to CIMB 800 242 3911 – the registered account of Pertubuhan Perlindungan Rohani Haiwan Terbiar (LASS). The price per reservation is RM60. Receipts will be issued upon request. As a token of appreciation, kids five and below will be awarded free admission.
