From a very early age, I learned that I had absolutely no talent for art and hated art classes with a passion. I’d look on in envy at classmates who could produce art to rival Picasso’s (okay I am exaggerating but it seemed like that at the time) with one hand tied behind their back (that also is an exaggeration). However hard I tried, I could never even obtain a ‘C’ grade for Art and it was such a relief when I finally left Art class for good.
At the Renaissance TempTationS Ramdhan Buffet, I came across Lazy Lizard Uniqraft Works 1-day exhibition. The Project Manager is Rizal Jasman and he produces not only art in canvas but also hand drawn shirts and scarves. The batik he produces is lovely and I was especially drawn to one of the scarves. Rizal paints a lot of lizards and has pet geckos which of course I hope never to meet as I have a lizard phobia.
