There always seem to be new lipsticks from Maybelline, the latest range being New York Color Sensational of which there are more than a dozen shades. Camie reviews two of the shades.
16 sensational shades, tailored to suit every skin tone and ethnicity, perfect coverage, Color Sensational is every woman’s need and want. Luscious creamy texture, richer than ever, undiluted pigment, promise you a non feathering all day long lip color from AM to PM.
Contains honey nectar, emollient waxes and Vitamin E – 3 ingredients that nourishes your lips like no others. It protects your lips from the dryness and tight feeling while preventing moisture lost.
Plum-Tastic – if you ever pick up a purple lip color, it would less likely for your everyday look.
This is the only purple shade in the whole collection. It comes out less purple but more plum and red based. Even the texture looks different, it’s more metallic/pearl-ish finishing. I don’t think it pulls off well on my skin tone. However, I do recommend this shade if you have ebony skin.
Are You Red-Dy – a heart racing crimson red shade that will bring sexiness to any woman. Its creamy texture creates a less fierce velvety finish compared to matte lipstick yet giving you full bodied luscious lips that would definitely make heads turn.
As pigmented as it claims to be, it does not leave stubborn stains on my lips and is easily removed with makeup remover. It’s very easy to glide on, I can feel the smooth application as it claims, very well covered and does not feel dry after wearing it for hours.
A suggestion would be – if you would like to get a tinted lipbalm but want more coverage then try this. You can get a more neutral brown or pink shade and use it just like your everyday lip protection.
