After visiting the first physiotherapy centre for a consultation, I went for a 2nd consultation + treatment at Bold Physiotherapy located in Bukit Gasing, PJ. They’ve been open since April this year and I chose this centre after reading the positive Google reviews and it’s not that far from my residence.

As usual, my timing is off. They were offering a 1st trial session at RM59 until 31st May but I made my appointment in June so the promotional price was RM99. Still, I had to give it a try as my heel spur has been bothering me more and more until I am almost at my wit’s end. I whatsapped Bold for an appointment and my first visit was over a week ago.

Bold is located in a convenient place for me, plenty of parking at the nearby row of shophouses although they’re located in a link/terrace house. I used to go to the Indian restaurants at the row of shophouses years ago so finding the place wasn’t a problem at all.

There’re 2 physiotherapists there, Deborah and Jaye. My consultation/treatment was with Jaye. probably the tallest physiotherapist I have seen (not that I have seen that many!). Jaye is in fact an athlete but you can read more about his profile in their website. The consultation was quite detailed and he patient in listening to my explanation of the heel condition and my previous (albeit unsuccessful) treatments elsewhere.

For my 1st treatment, Jaye suggested ultrasound followed by dry needling. Dry needling sounds painful as the therapist uses a thin monofilament needle to penetrate the skin. In my case, it’s the calf/thigh muscles and when poked, my muscles twitched. It treats muscle tissues and the goal is to reduce pain/inflammation. After the session, the area where the skin was poked felt a bit numb but not painful. It did reduce the ache on the heel. This was an interesting treatment for me.
