It was a bit of a relief for me because it’s the first day of the Conditional Movement Control Order which means that optical shops are open again and I can get replacement contact lens. I have been wearing the same pair for far longer than is safe for me. I should have changed them in mid-April. I went to Mid Valley Megamall this morning to check the prices of my usual contact lens at optical shops.
While taking a quick stroll around the mall which has restricted entry points, they take our temperatures and sanitise our hands, I noticed that quite a few fashion outlets have opened but as expected, not that many customers. Aeon GMS is open but no trying on clothes as expected for everyone’s safety.
There were rather long queues at the entrance of Aeon and Aeon Big supermarkets but not at Jaya Grocer. Temperatures are checked again at the entrance of Aeon GMS and we are given a tag with a number and which floor we entered. As nobody is allowed to try on clothes, I think there should be a general size guide posted with measurements so that we’ll know which size we can fit into.
I didn’t go into any of the fashion outlets. Presumably all of them are prohibiting the trying on of clothes. Perhaps we should all be wearing disposable gloves when touching any merchandise. Some food and beverage outlets have arranged their tables for dine-in customers while others especially the fast food ones won’t have dining in.
In the afternoon, I went to Sunway Pyramid Mall as I wanted to get the contact lens from my usual optician. The optician’s facebook said that they would be open from today but the shop was partially shuttered and when I asked if I could get a box of the contact lens, the staff made a “no” gesture with his hands. By the way, when I entered the mall from the car park my temperature wasn’t taken although there was a security guard at the top of the travellator. I then went to the same optician at Subang Parade and there they accommodated me by selling me the long awaited box of contact lens.
