After dropping by at the Anlene RM1 breakfast event at Mid Valley KTM Station this morning, I happened to pass by Mid Valley Centre Court. Honestly if you are at MV, how can you not pass by their Centre Court? So I saw 3 ladies gathered around stacks of red and white goody boxes being prepared and knew something was afoot. I asked one of the Shu promoters and she said there was a media event this evening. She pointed at the 3 ladies around the goody boxes and said they were from Head Office. I approached them, the lady nearest to me turned around and recognised me. She was previously from another beauty brand. I asked her about their event, of course she wasn’t in charge of the invitations. The PR of the brand was familiar. Turns out I know her too (she was from the same beauty brand as the trainer) but she didn’t act as if she knew me because she took my card, shook my hand and promptly turned back to the goody boxes. *ouch* Not like I was going to ask for an invitation, I know they think I am not esteemed enough. Not like I was looking for a catch-up because I know I’ll never be invited to any of their media events so what’s the point? The last time I was invited to their annual BIG beauty event which is always held at MV Centre Court was years ago. That’s why I lost interest in blogging about Shu products.
The trainer asked if I had time, I could participate in their consumer activities. Small consolation but what the heck, at least I could get a few measly samples, right? Better than nothing. So I sat myself down and one of their MUAs offered their 3D Brow Styling which would normally attract a charge but it’s complimentary at this event.
The 3D Brow Styling includes:
- brow shaping (trimming and plucking) using shu uemura’s professional brow tools
- brow styling through shading, defining and coloring to perfect desired brow style
I could also get to try their revamped/reformulated The Lightbulb Fluid Foundation(30ml/RM190). This foundation shades are tailor-made for Asian skin based on the hvc shade system that is known to be one of the most accurate color systems to precisely map any slight variation in shade.
I was asked whether I preferred a natural or more defined/sharper/pointier brow shape. I opted for the latter. The nice MUA who is from Sabah said that I didn’t need much plucking done and after the styling, she applied an eyebrow pencil to make the brows look fuller and thicker.
Good service so if you need your brows done, now is the time to get complimentary service from Shu Uemura. After all that, get a free ice cream although I didn’t get mine because I didn’t see the person providing the ice cream. However I did get my measly samples so that’s my first Shu experience for this year.
