There are 4 Mineralize Skinfinishes in MAC’s Semi Precious Collection. MAC’s MSFs as they are better known, are famous for their finish. The MSFs in this current collection have a “blob” in the middle, as The Blue Flamingo put it in her review.
Some “blobs” are bigger in the same shade of MSF so it all depends on whether one prefers the shade in the inner circle or the outer. Semi Precious Pearl is the lightest of the MSFs in the Semi Precious Collection. In MAC’s official website, the colour in the outer circle is described as beige, champagne and in the inner circle as white, plum, bronze.
In the pic above, I have used the MSF all over my face over liquid foundation in place of loose powder. I swirled the 2 colours together with my powder brush and it doesn’t look shimmery or glowy, yet the swatches appear shimmery.
I love all the colours, whether from the inner/outer circle or both colours blended together. I think that the colour from the outer circle makes a fantastic eye highlighter or a cheek highlighter. The colours from the inner circle and inner & outer circle blended together make lovely neutral eyeshadows.
When I first saw the MSF, I imagined that it’d be too shimmery to be used all over my face but I was proven wrong. It’s very light and silky smooth to apply and the colour doesn’t settle on fine lines unlike some loose powders. This is one fine, skin-enhancing powder. Semi Precious Pearl is versatile as it can be used as an all-over face powder, highlighter and eyelids.
If shimmer is visible, then it’s barely-there and subtle. The texture of the MSF is top-notch and this is one product I would gladly replenish but for the fact that this 10g MSF will take me a long time to finish. The MSFs retail at RM115.
Ya my 1st thought when looking at it is ” Wouldn’t it be too shimmery?” But it looks good on your face! Sometime it’s really difficult to judge the product from its appearance. The “Blob” is interesting!
