My IIFA 2015 Experience

Being among thousands of people at IIFA Awards last night was kind of exciting even though I didn’t know every star who was present. Outside Putra Indoor Stadium, one could hear the fans screaming whenever each Bollywood star arrived. However my IIFA 2015 experience wasn’t limited to just last night as I was also present at IIFA Rocks at Istana Budaya and IIFA Fashion Extravaganza at Shangri-La thanks to MAC Cosmetics who are the official make-up sponsor of IIFA 2015.

If there is one thing I have learned though, it’s that these events don’t start punctually and not even an hour late. Even if you arrived at the venue and hour and a half after the stated time on the invitation card, you’d still not be late. So there is a lot of waiting around if you are the punctual sort.

Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor performed a medley of songs in the opening act and were joined by a white clad figure from head-to-toe. It turned out to be Rakhi Sawant who disrobed to reveal a glittering gold costume – so entertaining.

The fans turned out in full force and were highly enthusiastic. The lot behind me were screaming very often and I could tell that many of the audience were from India. I wish I could say I had the energy to sty till the end but I need my beauty sleep and missed Hrithik Roshan’s performance. Most of the dialogue was in Hindi with bit and pieces of English thrown in. Interesting experience mingling with fans of the stars.
