Yuzu Japanese Restaurant The Gardens

Maybe I got out of the wrong side of bed yesterday. Whatever it was, I just felt crappy which is why I put up yesterday’s post drafted in half an hour. I already had the contents in my head and with the issues raging around inside me, I just felt like I needed to put it all down in print. I certainly felt a lot better after that even if I’ll continue being sidelined. The worst is yet to come, I feel it in my bones.

Maybe someone up there was feeling sorry for me. I was treated to lunch and dinner yesterday (will post about the dinner soon). Each meal was sumptuous and while lunch was at a restaurant I last visited in 2011, dinner was at a brand new restaurant which was impromptu.

Yuzu Japanese Restaurant The Gardens doesn’t need much introduction since those who love Japanese food will probably agree that it serves up more than decent quality Japanese food and this was evident when I was there at 2.45pm yesterday. The restaurant had many tables occupied at that hour. They have a special set lunch menu for between 11am-3pm.

I chose the salmon sushi set which comes with salmon sushi and salmon sashimi served with 2 kinds of hand roll, cold buck wheat noodles. egg custard, miso soup and fruits. Just look at the different components of this set. The salmon was so fresh. Beautiful presentation as one would expect in a fine Japanese restaurant.

There was nothing about this set that I didn’t like. I ate up everything with gusto.

The crispy salmon skin and soft shell crab salad tantalized my taste buds. The wafu dressing was the perfect complement to the incredibly crispy salmon skin. Wafu dressing is basically a soy sauce, rice vinegar and vegetable oil concoction.
