If there was ever any doubt that Aupres was initially targeted at a certain ethnicity and nation, doubt no more when you see the product description on a piece of paper inside the box. Other than “Aupres Pureness Bright” in English, everything else is in Chinese characters. Since I am sure Shiseido Malaysia doesn’t intend to target Aupres at just a certain race in Malaysia, it’d be helpful if the insert was translated into English at the very least. After all, not every Chinese person in Malaysia is Chinese literate.
As the name of this range suggests, Pureness Bright is for brightening and evening out skin tone. It also works to control the oxidation of sebum, then lightens the darkening of melanin in deeper layers of skin and finally hydrates all layers to bring out brighter and lustrous-looking skin.
The fact that Aupres is one of the many brands under Shiseido would have to do with the fact that this Cleansing Foam is rather similar to Shiseido’s The Skincare Purifying Cleansing Foam in that both contain tiny granules within the creamy cleanser, presumably for some form of gentle exfoliation so that skin appears clearer/brighhter.
In the tradition of the fabulous Shiseido foaming cleansers, the Aupres Pureness Bright Soft Scrub Cleansing Foam lathers up fantastically well with just a bit of cleanser. Just take a look at the images below and you’ll see how much foam is produced and that’s just by using my hands.
Aupres Pureness Bright Soft Scrub Cleansing Foam may be a lot cheaper than any cleanser from Shiseido but it’s no less effective or inferior in quality. It took all my makeup off leaving no residues and my skin didn’t feel tight or dry either. Aupres Pureness Bright Soft Scrub Cleansing Foam doesn’t have as nice a scent as Shiseido cleansers but that’s not to say it is unpleasant.
At just RM55 for a 125g tube of Aupres Pureness Bright Soft Scrub Cleansing Foam, this has to be one of the most affordable counter brands out there. Aupres is available at Parkson Pavilion. I’ve checked out the counter with the BA hovering over me but she didn’t say a word to me, not even hello. I swatched some of their eyeshadows and have formed an opinion about them but since I didn’t manage to take pics, I shall reserve my comments for now.
