Multi-Functional Plant Gold From Clarins

Ever since my first Clarins facial years ago, I’ve never forgotten the scent of their Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil. It’s one of the best scented face treatment oils, in my opinion. The Face Treatment Oil used to come in glass bottles without a dropper but now they come equipped with droppers which makes correct dispensation much easier. How inconvenient it was to use the oil without a dropper last time.

The creation of their face and body treatment oils dates back to 1965 and it was one of Clarins’ first signature products. Back then, they were kept for professional use only at Clarins Institute, 25 rue Tronchet, Paris. There are 3 Face Treatment Oils and they address different skin concerns.

I was sent a postcard to collect a box of samples which includes a choice of Face Treatment Oil, the choices being Blue Orchid for dehydrated skin, Santal for dry skin or skin prone to redness or Lotus for oily skin. The other 2 samples are 10ml of Toning Lotion and 5ml of HydraQuench Cream-Mask. The Beauty Advisor passed me the box of samples containing the Blue Orchid Oil which is also for skin losing tone (looks like this one suits me to a T). It contains essential oils of patchouli and hazelnut and orchid extract.

Since the Blue Orchid Oil is 3ml, I used it sparingly but it smells so good! Sometimes I just open the cap to take a whiff. There are a few ways to use it according to the instructions on the inside cover of the box and recommendation from the Beauty Advisor:-

1) warm a few drops in your palm and apply to cleansed skin that is still damp from toning lotion.

2) warm a few drops together with Toning Lotion and apply to cleansed skin.

3) mix the oil together with HydraQuench Cream-Mask.

Clarins recommends using pressing motions when applying the Treatment Oil. I’ve been mixing it with the Toning Lotion and it’s marvellous as it makes me feel relaxed and my skin feel soft. I have also mixed it with the HydraQuench Cream-Mask which makes the Mask less creamy but still hydrates my skin.

The Face Treatment Oils are 100% pure plant extracts and essential oils. All the Face Treatment Oils are 30ml/RM155 while the Toning Lotions are 200ml/RM90.
