3rd Malaysia International Durian & Cultural Fest 2023 With Director General of Tourism Malaysia, Aaron Aziz, Amber Chia, Chan Fong

The Largest Durian Buffet and Cultural Festival, 3rd Malaysia International Durian & Cultural Fest 2023 at Pavilion Bukit Jalil (Piazza Pavilion outdoor) was officiated by Dato Dr Ammar abd Ghapar- Director General of Tourism Malaysia together with Brand Event Ambassadors Dato Aaron Aziz, Amber Chia & Chan Fong along with the joint organizer by both Malaysian companies DKing and LKE Musang Queen in the hopes of making it as a yearly event known as Durian Day or DurianFest to be an attraction for both locals and international tourists in line to promote Malaysian Durian and Culture to the world.

Mr Leron Yee, Founder of DKing & Founder & Organizer of Malaysia International Durian & Cultural Fest 2023 began his welcome speech by thanking the Guest of Honor and all collaboration partners for making this event a successful one despite a hiccup of the postponement due to the unforeseen black spot illness that affected durians in June 2023. The number of sponsors and partners of this event have increased, making the value of goodies bag increase from RM250 to RM600 for every person who purchased the RM68 entrance ticket for all you can eat quality durian (no kampung durian) including D101, D24, Red Prawn, Butter King and high quality Musang King sold in individual packs of 300gram
for a special RM45 during this event. Not missing every slot of durian buffet, there will be lucky draws giving away to customers. While customers enjoy the durian buffet, they can enjoy local artistes performances and customers can sing to win Musang King every hour. So customers can really enjoy the quality of durians and amazing performances and will be served by Brand Event Ambassadors Dato Aaron Aziz, Amber Chia & Chan Fong.

Mr Jeremy Chin, Co-founder of LKE Musang Queen & Joint Organizer of Malaysia International Durian & Cultural Fest 2023 shared that the partnership of The King and Queen exemplifies an outstanding partnership that will extend into the upcoming years, rekindling the vision of Hari Durian or Durian Fest that originated in Malaysia and is gaining worldwide recognition.

The Guest of Honor, Dato Dr Ammar abd Ghapar- Director General of Tourism Malaysia shared that Tourism Malaysia hopes this kind of positive event and activities will continue every year. This year, Malaysia’s targetting 16.1 million international tourist arrivals and generated RM49 billion hit in receipt. It is hoped that this event will benefit the Malaysian Economy. FnB, Hotels and Shopping will also benefit with more overseas tourist visiting Malaysia.

This year the event is successful attracting over 3,000 local and 600 international durian lovers coming for the durian buffet and 1,200 joined the durian fun run. This event is not about just eating durian but having healthy activities like the Durian Fun Run and there were Family activities like kid talents and catwalk organized by MoveKids and few academies in promoting family bonding and culture future Malaysia talents. Not only that, strategic partner Melife led by Datin Seri Jekkie Chin in breaking a new record in the Malaysia Book of Records as well as raising funds for charity.

With the inclusion of durian cake, ice-cream, chocolate and many forms of product infused with Malaysian Durian can be small step for oversea tourists to begin with and maybe they will become durian lovers in time.

This event ended on 10th September 2023, 8pm with a closing ceremony that was officiated by Guest of Honor, Y.M Tengku Dato Dr Hishammuddin Zaizi bin Y.A.M. Tengku Bendahara Azman Shah Alhaj who witnessed 2 Malaysian records broken in the Malaysia Book of Records.
