25 Years Of Tourism Excellence: Tourism Selangor Launches Travel Fair Selangor 2026 with Strong Industry Support

Tourism Selangor hosted its Media & Influencers Hi-Tea 2026 as a gesture of appreciation to members of the media and content creators for their continuous support in promoting Selangor’s tourism industry and the Visit Selangor Year 2026 (VSY2026) campaign.

Tourism Selangor Chief Executive Officer, Chua Yee Ling, said Selangor’s tourism industry continued to demonstrate strong growth, recording 8.42 million tourist arrivals in 2025, comprising 68% domestic visitors and 32% international visitors. China remained Selangor’s largest international market, contributing 24.1% of total foreign arrivals, followed by Singapore (13.4%) and Indonesia (6.7%).

“The encouraging performance of Selangor’s tourism sector reflects the collective commitment of our tourism stakeholders, industry partners, media organisations and content creators in positioning Selangor as a preferred destination for both domestic and international travellers. We sincerely value the support of our media friends and influencers whose storytelling and coverage have helped strengthen the visibility of Selangor’s tourism campaigns,” said Tourism Selangor Chief Executive Officer, Chua Yee Ling.

She added that Tourism Selangor’s marketing efforts under the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign were recognised nationally after winning the Gold Award for Best Use of Content at the Malaysia Public Relations Awards 2025.

“This recognition reflects the effectiveness of our strategic communications and collaborative efforts in promoting Selangor’s unique tourism offerings. It also underscores the important role played by the media and digital content creators in helping us engage wider audiences and inspire travel to Selangor,” she said.

Held at Sunseed Green Wellness Bistro @ JAM PJ, the gathering brought together tourism stakeholders, media representatives and influencers who have played an important role in amplifying Selangor’s tourism offerings to local and international audiences.

JAM PJ positions itself as an alternative lifestyle destination in the heart of Petaling Jaya. It’s not just a retail hub and certainly more than an event venue. We are reimagining urban spaces by blending creativity, culture and commerce under one roof. It’s home to curated retail, diverse dining concepts and flexible event venues designed for experiential activation, cultural initiatives and community-driven collaborations.

As part of ongoing efforts to drive tourism growth, Tourism Selangor will organise the Selangor Travel Fair 2026 on 25 and 26 July 2026 at Central Market Kuala Lumpur. Now in its third edition, the fair is expected to attract more than 40,000 visitors and will feature 35 exhibitors showcasing tourism products, attractions, accommodation and travel experiences from across Selangor.

The event is supported by Farm Fresh as Main Sponsor and Strategic Partner, alongside strategic partners including AVIS Budget Malaysia, Tourism Malaysia Central Region, PADAT, Media Selangor and Batik Air.

Tourism Selangor remains committed to strengthening collaboration with media practitioners and content creators as key partners in promoting Selangor as a leading tourism destination under the Visit Selangor Year 2026 campaign and in support of Visit Malaysia 2026.
