MindNexis, an all-inclusive psychiatry, psychology and counselling service provider launched a multidisciplinary mental health and wellness centre that looks to support and enhance Malaysia’s collective emotional wellbeing, cognitive functioning and overall quality of life.
Located in Bangunan Bangsaria in Bangsar, the centre offers accessible and integrative mental health care services with an emphasis on clinical excellence, dignity and the human connection in healing – key factors that allow for personalised, evidence-based and in-depth mental health and neurodevelopmental care.
The opening comes at an opportune time as mental health issues continue to be among the leading causes of disability and health loss in Malaysia. This is due to, among others, rapid cultural and lifestyle changes brought about by increased urbanisation and globalisation, and heightened levels of perceived stress associated with these factors.
“While there is growing public awareness, MindNexis recognises that mental health and neurodevelopmental needs change over time and across life stages, which is why it is crucial to provide precise, personalised services that align with these components,” said MindNexis Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Suresh Venkatachari.
He cited the National Health and Morbidity Survey 2023 report, which estimates that one million Malaysians aged 16 and above experience depression, adding that these figures would have undoubtedly increased over the past three years, with urgent intervention required to tackle a growing public health challenge.

The launch also included a panel discussion titled ‘Bridging the Gap: The Power of Multidisciplinary Care’, which delves into how integrating psychiatry, psychology and allied health, as exemplified by MindNexis’ concept of a unified home for patients, improves outcomes across the lifespan. Panellists, comprising lead clinicians and guest advocates, will share how this approach in an increasingly fragmented healthcare landscape reduces clinical symptoms for families and leads to measurable improvements in quality of life.
