BaseUp Launches In Malaysia: A Brand Redefining ‘Modern Health’ Starting At The Base

BaseUp, a wellness brand developed under Tohtonku Sdn Bhd (“Tohtonku”), officially launches in Malaysia today, redefining modern health with its philosophy, “Wellness Starts at the Base.” This launch marks a pivotal milestone for Tohtonku as it expands into the wellness and health category, leveraging over 60 years of experience and a strong ecosystem of resources to address the evolving needs of today’s consumers.

BaseUp is designed to address one of today’s most prevalent challenges—stress, often driven by over-digitalisation—which may impact multiple aspects of health, including skin appearance, gut health, hormonal balance, and sleep quality. This growing concern is reflected in national data. Recent reports indicate that 54.4% [1] of Malaysian adults are overweight or obese—the highest in Southeast Asia—while 33.8% [2] report symptoms of insomnia. Additionally, data from Malaysia’s National Cancer Registry shows that skin cancers account for 2.6% [3] of all reported cases, reflecting broader lifestyle-related health challenges faced by the population.

BaseUp White Tomato Glo

Contains 500mg of White Tomato Extract, a powerful antioxidant, combined with 250mg of Glutathione derived from Torula Yeast Extract, an innovative “drinkable sunscreen” formulated to help protect skin from UV-induced damage and support brighter-looking skin. It’s enhanced with Belight3™ [4], a patented ingredient supported by clinical research to help reduce the appearance of pigmentation. Study shows that Belight3™ is proven to inhibit as high as 85% of Tyrosine – a protein directly responsible for skin melanin production. This patented ingredient is clinically proven to brighten skin by 22.4%, visibly reducing dark spots in 12 weeks.

BaseUp Xlimm Biotic Orange

A modern approach to weight management, formulated with 400mg of patented Morosil® Blood Orange Extract [5] to support weight management by blocking fat cells formation. This product is also enriched with postbiotics derived from 10 billion probiotic cells to improve gut microbiome balance. Clinical study of 102 overweight adults over 3 – 6 months with the same daily dosage, showed result of significant
weight loss of 3kg, with an average of 7cm reduction in waist circumference in 3 months.

BaseUp FemmeVital NMN

Developed to support women’s vitality and cellular energy, containing patented Uthever® NMN [6] (World’s Best NMN) to promote cellular energy production and slow down ageing. Based on a clinical study of 66 healthy adults over 2 months with 300mg of Uthever® NMN, results showed +38% more energy in respondents’ cells. This product is also enriched with Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) to help support hormonal balance and overall women’s well-being, including mood fluctuations.

BaseUp AshwaDream

Formulated to support stress management and promote restful sleep. This product contains patented KSM-66® Ashwagandha [7] to support stress resilience and relaxation. Based on a clinical study of 58 adults supplemented with 600mg of KSM-66® Ashwagandha daily for over 10 weeks, result showed significant improvement in Sleep Efficiency scores, it observed 83.48 (2.83) increased after 10 weeks, with a 75.63 (2.70) baseline for test. This product is also enhanced with Magnesium

Glycinate and L-Theanine to help calm the nervous system and support better sleep quality without causing drowsiness.
