What used to be known as Secretaries’ Day is now Administrative Professionals’ Day, it’s a mouthful with too many syllables to describe a job title but we have to move with the times. Administrative Professionals’ Lunch @ Hotel Istana was celebrated with a buffet lunch and entertainment from Malaysia’s (probably one and only) look-alike Mr Bean, Albanian Fykat Luari who has been in Malaysia for more than 20 years and speaks English like any other Malaysian. I guess if you have been in a country for as long as Mr Fykat, you would take on some of your adopted country’s nuances.
Other than being Mr Bean at events. Mr Fykat is a speaker on communication and financial skills. The guests at the Administrative Professionals’ lunch were entertained with games and Mr Fykat’s presentation on the differences between men and women (quite hilarious when you come to think of it).
The buffet spread was very satisfactory in terms of quality and quantity but my favourite section was the dessert as generally the hotel always produces some fine pastries. I couldn’t stop munching on the bite-sized egg tarts as they are not too sweet and really irresistible. I must have had at least half a dozen of these.
