Out of the 3 main eye concerns, fine lines, eye bags and dark circles, I am most perturbed by the developing crow’s feet around my eyes. Eye bags and dark circles may be temporary due to lack of sleep but once crow’s feet develop, they are there to stay unless I counter it with an effective eye skincare product.
Origins Starting Over™ Age-erasing eye cream with Mimosa is an eye cream which specifically targets crow’s feet. It’s an anti-aging eye cream which combines the clinically-proven collagen-boosting powers of Mimosa Tenuiflora Bark, the key ingredient within the Starting Over™ Collection, with Fennel Seed. Fennel Seed Extract zeros in on tense, clenched-looking skin around the eyes, helping to relax and release the look of fine lines resulting in less visible creasing and wrinkling.
The other 2 key ingredients are Boswellia Serrata Extract which helps to resurface and smooth the look of eyelid crepiness, allowing for an easy, even application of eye makeup and Silica, a brightening optic which helps to immediately illuminate the eye area, resulting in more radiant looking eyes.
Although creamy in texture, I find this eye cream quite lightweight, not greasy and easily absorbed. I’ve used it for more than a month twice daily and it’s not even half finished. After dabbing it on the under-eye area, I apply the remainder on my eyelids as it’s supposed to help with crepey eyelids.
My eye area appears smoother and feels hydrated even when I have foundation and powder on. It doesn’t irritate my eyes when I accidentally rub my eyes after it’s been applied. I don’t have severe fine lines around my eyes yet so I can’t say if it’s worked to diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Generally, this is a good hydrating eye cream which may even be suitable for oily skins but if you do have very oily skin, the best thing to do would be to try it out first at the counter. If your concern is also dark circles and eye bags, then you may have to use another eye skincare product to complement this one.
