During the official opening of the Dior Boutique in Mid Valley recently, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Khoo, Dior Malaysia’s Fragrance Expert who kindly gave me a one-t0-one consultation on which Dior fragrance suits me best through a scent profile.
This is how it works – I was asked a series of questions first, i.e. whether I prefer intense or light scents (intense), what do I look for in a fragrance, uniqueness or elegance (uniqueness), describe my personality – discreet or outgoing (outgoing although some may beg to differ).
Then Mr. Khoo dips 3 slips of cardboard into the little jars of scents, each one bearing the name of a Dior fragrance and I am asked to describe how I feel as I smell each slip with my eyes closed. I wasn’t that drawn to the 1st one but I liked the 2nd and 3rd. I was asked to make an ultimate decision between the 2nd and 3rd scent which turned out to be J’adore Voile de Parfum and Dior Addict EDT respectively while the 1st scent was Miss Dior EDP (actually their bestselling fragrance, so Mr. Khoo tells me).
I gleaned a lot of information on Dior fragrances during this session and Mr. Khoo is the best! I chose Dior Addict EDT – it contains jasmine, sandalwood and mandarin and reflects a young, energetic and positive mind (huh? that’s me?).
