Simplyd @ Avenue K

Looking through Simplyd’s menu, I am amazed at their selection. There is much to choose from and they even offer a reasonably priced breakfast with a selection of toasted egg muffin priced between RM4 and RM6.50 and you can add on a small coffee or tea for RM4. There’s also angelhair mee siam and granola and fresh fruits available for breakfast till 11.30am.

For lunch and dinner, there’s a wide range of pasta – take your pick between linguine, angelhair, fusilli, spahettini, soba noodles, flat white noodles and yellow mee all cooked in a variety of styles such as Carbonara, ‘No Fry’ Pad Thai, Saled Egg Pumpkin, Beef Short Ribs Herbal Soup, Laksa, Chilli Chicken “Pastamee”, Creamy Seafood Marinara, Teriyaki Salmon and Sweet Basil and Cashew Nut Pesto.

I tried the Caesar Salad with Tea Egg RM12. If you add Chargrilled Chicken, it costs RM15 and if you choose to add Smoked Salmon, it costs RM18.50. There’re quite generous with the parmesan shavings and with the tea egg, it makes for a satisfying meal.

Simplyd @ Avenue K has a range of mouth-watering cakes

Most of the cakes are priced at RM8 which is reasonable considering some cafes price theirs at above RM10 which I think is too much for just a piece of cake. At RM10 and above, I might as well be having a hot meal. I had the pineapple and strawberry cheesecake, it’s not too sweet but it could have done with more pineapple taste because I tasted mostly strawberry and cheese.

Soft serve ice cream is the best way to end a meal. I think a re-visit is necessary to try the Gula Melaka & Kacang Pie, one of the more unusual desserts at Simplyd.
