Whenever I think of the fashion creations of Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana, I always think of the confident women they dress. These are women who know what they want and aren’t afraid of the challenges they have to overcome in order to achieve their goals.
Dolce & Gabbana Intense EDP reflects the D & G woman from the design of the bottle to the scent. I like that the bottle is rather masculine, at first glance I would have thought this was a men’s fragrance. There are no floral illustrations or anything to suggest that this might be a woman’s fragrance but the burgundy and gold combination is sensual. The packaging takes inspiration from the sumptuous velvet drapery once used to adorn the interiors of palaces in Sicily. The opaque burgundy glass is a favourite of the atelier.
Subtle hints of Neroli & Green Mandarin are contrasted with the rich opulence of two noble white flowers, Orange Blossom and Tuberose. The fragrance is full-bodied and truly intense. As it settles, one can smell Sandal Wood as the fragrance turns a bit musky. This scent is perfect for evenings out but I use it during the day as well as I love the intensity and long staying power.
