Just 23 days into 2012 and it’s already the Year of the Water Dragon. Time for rejoicing and feasting with family and friends. Wishing everyone who is celebrating Chinese New Year an abundance of joy, health, love and prosperity. May this year bring everyone more success too!

A few days ago, I received this unique and simply awesome bamboo steamer (which I thought was full of dim sum) from a very lovely person. It’s a 2-tier basket containing an assortment of Chinese New Year goodies such as cookies, mandarin oranges, a small stuffed toy, gold nuggets and 2 red pouches containing Chinese mushrooms and red dates.

Best of all, after everything has been devoured, the bamboo steamer can be used to steam dim sum. This is the best Chinese New Year gift ever!
